West Town Kids

At West Town Community Church we do not believe that children's ministry is "glorified" babysitting while the parents have "real" church.

We believe that what happens in children's ministry is just as important as what happens in "grown up" church. When a child begins the journey of following Christ you have an opportunity to save a whole life. At West Town Community Church we consider that a great responsibility and privilege.

Who Leads The Way?
Who Leads The Way?

West Town has been very blessed to have a stable and strong children’s ministry for many years due to excellent leadership by our long time director Brenda Duke & Vangie Addison.  Julie Warner, a Columbia County Elementary School Teacher, and former Richmond County Teacher of the Year, wife to Josh, mother to Hannah, Chance and Maisy, has taken over leadership.  We look forward to continued excellence under Julie's leadership.

What Your Children Can Expect

Part of our philosophy of ministry is for whole families to be together (except for nursery age children) for part of our worship experience.  We choose for them to be together for the music portion of our worship which is also at the beginning of the service.

So, about 25 minutes into our Sunday morning worship experience we invite the children 4 years old through 8th grade to exit. They go to the smaller auditorium next door for an experience led by a dedicated team in an age appropriate teaching/worship time that includes drama and audio visual. After the large group experience, they break into small groups by age.  Each group is led by an adult. They do follow-up from the lesson as well as a caring/sharing time.  The children are regularly encouraged to live out what they are learning through practical projects.  We believe that the West Town children's ministry is one of the best.  We welcome you to let your child experience it.  We also welcome you to go with your child and check it out for yourself.

About Us

If you’re looking for a casual, informal church where you can simply observe or actively engage with Christ followers and non-religious people in a non-threatening way, then West Town Community Church may be the place for you. Influenced by contemporary churches like Willow Creek and Saddleback, West Town Community Church believes church should be upbeat and relevant while staying true to God’s Word and the Good News of Jesus Christ.
